Velvet Revolver Find New Singer?:

VELVET REVOLVER bassist Duff McKagan has hinted to KERRANG! that their search for new singer may be over. The LA rockers have narrowed down their search for Scott Weiland's replacement - who left the band in April to join the reformed Stone Temple Pilots - but they're not spilling the beans just yet...

"We've been working with a couple of singers but there's this one guy," says McKagan. "Our plan is to record some new songs in Matt's studio at the back of his house and then record the vocals. 'He' has sung on one song already and it's sounding great.
"We weren't looking for another Scott," adds the bassist. "This guy is maybe in the same vocal range as Scott, but what we really liked about him was his demeanour!"

McKagan has denied rumours that the new vocalist will be former Skid Row frontman Sebastain Bach or The Panic Channel's Steve Isaacs. The bassist, however, admits that if it he had his way, the position would go to Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.

"He was the first person that I wanted to try back in January," smiles McKagan. "I think that Corey is the best rock singer. Our management, who also manage Slipknot said, 'Don't even think about it!"
