- Guns N Roses to
Play Argentina:
-
-
- The "new" GN'R, the same who played for 200,000
people in Rock in Rio 3, will be in Buenos Aires in
november to play at the end of the second edition of the
Buenos Aires Hot Festival, in the argentinian Polo Camp.
The Buenos Aires population will have the chance of see
by third time the band, that, one time, the ex president
Carlos Menem called a "wicked" band (or "a villanous
band!?).
-
- Also it was announced that this year will be a 4
seasons cicle: Autumn Hot in april, Winter Hot in july,
Spring Hot in september and the second edition of Buenos
Aires Hot Festival, in november's second forthnight.
National and foreign artists will play, but, until now,
the only show confirmed is GN'R.
-
- The guns that will come have only 1 thing in common
with the ones that came before: Axl Rose, that now has a
prominent belly and is notoriously more quieter than in
another times. But he's still playing the misterious and
playing the game of the hide-and-seek with the
photographers. During the time he stayed in Rio de
Janeiro he went out thehotel few times and only his fans
could photograph him. He only went to the beach one day
in the early morning with 3 guards.
-
- Then, he came to Buenos Aires as an unknown and
walked by the city: he ate meat and went out with the
president of his fan club. But, although there was the
chance that the band would play in the Buenos Aires Hot
Festival, Axl prefeered to wait for the band to be "more
triained". Also, it trascended that the band asked for a
high price to play (in Río they were paid more
than half a million dollars).
-
- The new GN'R lineup is completed with Buckethead
(guitar), Brian (drums), Tommy Stinson (bass), and Robin
Finck (guitar). From the original lineup only survived
the tecladist Dizzy Reed. Musically, things have changed
a little, too. The Guns model 2001 flirt with tecno rock,
although they "keep supporting" on a guitar structure.
And the main songs are the old ones, like Welcome to the
jungle, Nightrain and November Rain.
-
- When they come to Buenos Aires -if the band's
intention gets realised- Chinese Democracy will be in
stores, it's their first album in 10 years, and will be
out in june. In Río, the band playied new songs.
One of the new songs, a rocker ballad, has the cd's name.
Maybe to create some expectation and try to revive the
mystic that GN'R had on it's glory days.
